Aquatic Research Facility
The need for products to improve health and to prevent and control disease has increased with the expansion and intensification of the global aquaculture industry.
All medicines approved for use in animals bound for human consumption must be safe, efficacious and meet limits on tissue residues. The studies necessary to demonstrate this typically consist of non-clinical (safety) and clinical (efficacy) trials which are performed in compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Clinical Practice (veterinarian) (GCPv) respectively.
The Institute of Aquaculture was the first European centre working primarily on aquaculture research to receive a statement of GLP compliance, and since 1994 we have conducted studies in both clinical and non-clinical fields: regulated and non - regulated work.
