Native Species Development
Since 1983 Professor Lindsay Ross and Dr Carlos Martínez-Palacios have collaborated as Principal Investigators on the major theme of development
of native species for aquaculture in Mexico and elsewhere in Central and South America.

Applied Physiology
Professor Ross's group developed from his initial interests in fish physiology, particularly relating to marine and deep sea species. After joining the Institute of
Aquaculture his research moved into freshwater cultured species, especially tilapias and carps.
